I have over 20 years’ experience of devising, developing, facilitating, and evaluating social practice projects both as a practitioner and arts manager. I am a qualified psychotherapist and have trained in trauma informed approaches. I offer a range of services that explore ways of working that contribute to a more socially just and caring society.

I am available for commissions as a social practice artist. I work predominantly with marginalised groups, in non-arts contexts and use a research-based approach. My work can respond to a particular need or issue within a community or explore the creative potential of bringing people together around a shared goal or interest. You can find out more about commissioning me here and view a selection of past projects here. Time permitting, I also take on commercial commissions which you can find out more about here.

I support artists and arts researchers working in challenging contexts who describe their practice as participatory or socially engaged. My service, The Listening Post, provides a safe and supportive space for individuals to process experiences, develop practice, and attend to their emotional and psychological wellbeing. You can find out more about this service here.

I support organisations who commission projects in social practice/participatory contexts. My service, Dutiful Care, provides consultancy and training to help organisations to identify and respond to the care needs of their staff, the artists that they work with and the communities that they serve. You can find out more about this service here.

I also write for publications, give talks, collaborate with academics, and contribute to research networks. You can find out more about these services in the research section of this website.

If you have a question about the services I provide or would like to work with me, please get in touch. I would love to hear from you.
